The short answer
Current RMS is the more established rental platform. Its current public offer centers on rental CRM, inventory availability, barcoded warehouse operations, labor and resource scheduling, online proposals, integrations, support, and a 30-day unrestricted trial.
Flightcase is the younger production-led option. It is a better first test when fixed quote revisions, internal show communication, crew-facing context, serialized scans, and a bundled route from approved scope to production and payment matter more than a conventional rental CRM.

Current RMS has the maturity and integration advantage
Current RMS says thousands of companies use the product across more than 2,000 cities. Its pricing includes unlimited support and training, automatic updates, backups, and no setup charge. Its integration list and open API give an established rental company more ways to fit the product into an existing stack.
Flightcase cannot match that operating history today. A buyer with strict integration, vendor-risk, or support requirements should account for the difference.
Flightcase puts more weight on the live show record
Current RMS publicly starts with rental business data: inventory, proposals, resource schedules, barcodes, and CRM. Flightcase starts with the commercial document and keeps extending it into show chat, crew files, warehouse commitments, run of show, scans, returns, and payment.
That distinction matters most to a company that produces the event as well as renting the equipment. A pure rental house may prefer the conventional rental model. A small production team may prefer fewer boundaries between sales and delivery.
Run these three tests before choosing
- Revise a shared quote and confirm exactly what the client can still see.
- Move a serialized item or case from pull through return and damage follow-up.
- Change the show date, crew call, and equipment requirement, then inspect every place that needs the update.
